Tests we recommend

At Kairos, we only recommend assessments that meet a high bar for scientific rigor, validity, and real-world application. While there are hundreds of personality tools on the market, very few are grounded in decades of research and ongoing psychometric validation. Two that consistently meet that standard are the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) and the Big Five (OCEAN) Personality Test.

The MMPI is the gold standard in clinical psychology. Used primarily by licensed professionals, it assesses personality structure and psychopathology with extraordinary depth and statistical reliability. It is designed for diagnostic clarity, clinical evaluation, and high-stakes screening environments where psychological stability matters.

The Big Five (OCEAN) model is the most widely accepted framework in academic personality research. It measures five broad personality dimensions—Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism—offering a reliable way to understand behavioral tendencies and predict patterns across contexts such as work and relationships.

We recommend these assessments because they are scientifically validated and empirically grounded - not trend-driven, overly simplistic, or built primarily for entertainment.

That said, the Kairos Assessment operates in a completely different lane.

Most assessments, including the MMPI and Big Five—measure personality and emotional disposition: how you tend to feel, behave, or respond. Kairos measures cognition. It focuses on how you think, not how you feel.

Where emotional and personality assessments describe temperament, Kairos identifies cognitive preferences—the underlying mental processes that shape perception, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making. This distinction matters. Two people can share similar personality traits yet think in fundamentally different ways. Those differences often explain friction, misunderstanding, and inefficiency far better than emotional profiles alone.

In a market saturated with tools that map temperament, Kairos stands as the leading cognitive assessment—designed not for labeling personality, but for revealing thinking patterns that drive clarity, collaboration, and performance.

The result is a fundamentally different kind of insight:

  • Not “Who are you emotionally?”

  • But “How do you process the world?”

That shift—from emotion to cognition—is what sets Kairos apart.
